Overall Box Almost Complete

I have almost finished my box and currently have it working in Flash without any of the elements. Hopefully I’ll add those in the next few days.
My box starts with the curtains of the theatre closed and they open when clicked on to reveal my objects.


The elements grow in size slightly when they are hovered over to indicate they are a button. Once they’re clicked on all the objects leave the stage slowly and the frame in which the element will be displayed is lowered onto the stage.

Logo Development

I have been working on my logo and looking at fonts to use. I want to include my name in the logo and have a memorable image connected to it.

I thought to show my artistic side I could incorporate my logo with a series of famous art pieces, recognised by everyone. This would show how I enjoy getting inspiration from others work and create my own version of it. It would also demonstrate how my identity leaves a mark and it’s not only people that affect my identity by I affect others identities.

Here is the development of my logo so far.

Jigsaw Puzzle

I decided that I wanted to show some of my own artwork in my identities work as I really enjoy it and art has played a big role in my life. I wanted to show it in a fun way in which the audience could interact with it and I could express the emotions related to creating art.
A flash jigsaw puzzle came to mind as the person viewing it would need to create the art themselves and could experience the satisfaction of completing a drawing in a more basic way. I really struggled with Flash and have been working on this tutorial for ages. I was hoping to show a few bits of art but with the time I’ve got left I don’t think I will be able to. Also, the tutorial I was following got taken off the internet so I had to work out the end of it without the tutorial.
Here is my puzzle. It doesn’t have a proper ending but I may try and work on that once all my elements are finished.

Basic Structure of Pixilation

I’ve got the basics of my pixilation complete with a rough draft of the music. The quality isn’t great so I will hopefully export it better when it’s complete.
I have linked my skills together and will layer more things on top to make it show more of my identity. I like how this is coming along and am pleased with what I have achieved so far.
I have been working with a couple of friends to produce an original piece of music to play along with the pixilation as I want the right mood to be portrayed and felt this was the only way I could. It’s unfinished in this piece and it’s being worked on at the moment.

Avatar Development

I have decided that if I am to make my avatar a puppet then it needs to be a lot simpler than the designs I have been making. I have planned out my avatar more simply and started to model it using basic shapes. I’ve got a lot more work to do to it but I’m hoping to create a simple puppet and add textures to make it look toy like.

Avatar Ideas

I have decided that I want my avatar to be a puppet on strings to represent how my family, friends and surroundings have made a huge impact on my personality and in a way have ‘controlled’ who I have become. I want to show how moving to Nottingham has made an impact on my identity so I will do this by having an inspired theme inspired by the old buildings and more cultured atmosphere than my home town. I am going to have this present throughout my box so have been looking into what kind of clothes my avatar could be wearing.
